Liebster Award | Congrats BeautyFull & Leila Lina!!
Another honor to be nominated by the lovely Vicky at BeautyFull and Leila Lina for the Liebster Award!! Again, since I’ve been nominated before, I still think it’s fun to answer the questions so you have a chance to get to know me better. And! it’s a chance to spread word of new, awesome bloggers! Questions from Vicky:
1. Which is your favorite blog to read? I actually don’t have a specific one because I love so many!! I guess when I’m browsing through my reader, I tend to click on fashion, makeup reviews, and food posts more than anything 🙂
2. Do you prefer texting or phone calls? If it’s a quick message, I’ll text, but if I want to chat or need to talk to someone, I’ll definitely call.
3. What are your hopes for you blog? That people enjoy what I post and find inspiration on what I write about 🙂
4. What is your favorite brand of chocolate? Oh my gosh, why did you have to ask this question?? haha, if you know me, I LOVE chocolate…to the point it’s probably an addiction. My favorite “cheap” chocolate is Dove’s Dark Chocolate. And then I absolutely love finding small chocolate boutiques and getting a box of assorted artisan chocolate 🙂
5. Do you have any hairstyles/clothes you used to wear that you now regret? I think we all do if you were an 80’s/90’s kid 🙂 But when I was in high school, I dressed like a goth/hardcore person (unbelievable right?). I used to wear those big black pants with lots of chains and straps hanging off of them, and fishnet on my arms….back then I thought I was really cool. I probably wasted so much money on buying clothes like that haha….but I will say, I kind of liked that style and evolved it into my own wardrobe with leather jackets, combat boots, studs, and statement jewelry.
6. Who is your style icon? I love Rachel Bilson’s style and absolutely love the Olsen twins.
7. Do you have one makeup product you reach for everyday? Yes, my Anastasia DipBrow. Brows make all the difference!
8. What is the best thing that has happened to you this year? Probably getting out of a terrible company and moving to my current job, and blogging!
9. If you could switch places with any person in the world for one day, who would it be and why? This one is really tough….maybe a famous National Geographic photographer to go and travel and take rare and awesome photographs of nature, animals, and wild life…yes, that’s what I’d love to see. That or an astronaut so I can go into space for one day.
10. What is the first website you go to when you get online? Gmail to check my emails 🙂
11. How often do you buy makeup? It depends, but on average, probably every 2 months or so? I like to use up what I have. Unless there’s some crazy sale or a must have makeup product, then I’ll go out and buy something 🙂
Questions from Leila Lina:
1. Why did you choose to begin blogging and how long ago? I started back in May of this year and started because I needed a creative outlet from my professional life!
2. Describe the room/place you are in right now. I’m at work in my lab, at my desk, drinking coffee and waiting for my incubations to finish 😛
3. What is the last meal/snack you ate? I just had my usual, everyday breakfast – almond butter and nutella on toast and a cup of coffee. YUM!
4. Describe your favorite outfit in your closet. This is reeeeeally hard haha. Right now, I’m really loving flowy, pleated skirts and circle skirts, topped with leather/denim jackets with lots of studs, metal, and zippers. And then finished with gold jewelry and either booties, comfy heels, or flats
5. Describe your everyday makeup look. It’s really natural! I put on a tinted moisturizer, MAC MSF, blush, mascara, lipgloss or lipstick, and fix my brows. Ta-da!
6. What is something that most people do not know about you? If I could quit my job in the science field or didn’t pursue my career now, I would have studied music – either classical piano or flute
7. What items are currently on your wishlist? Zara leather jacket, beautyblender, a Kindle e-reader, and a new closet organization system for my shoes and clothing.
8. What is your idea of a perfect Friday night? I’m always excited for Friday nights, because it’s usually the time my husband and I go on a “date”. We usually go out to dinner, have a few drinks and talk about anything and everything. I think it’s important to have those “dates” with your significant other. We tend to lose each other during the week due to work and lack of sleep.
9. What are your hopes, dreams or goals for the future? My one main goal is to excel and climb up in my current job so I can be more flexible when I have kids. I also want to travel more before I have kids…but, I also can’t wait to be a mommy 🙂
10. What is the last song you listened to? “Invasion” – Eisley

Liebster Award | Congrats batemanjess!
It was an honor to be nominated again for the Liebster Award by the lovely batemanjess! Since I already have a post on my original Liebster award, I just wanted to give a shoutout to batemanjess for nominating me!! 🙂 I also think it’s always fun to answer random questions and read what other bloggers answered too. Please check out her blog!
1. Why did you start blogging? I started blogging as an outlet from my professional life. I’ve always loved writing in journals and have blogged a long time ago, so I missed it!
2. Where did your blog name come from? I am a very small petite woman, who works in a molecular biology laboratory all day 😉
3. What’s your favorite of your own blog posts? This is a tough question since I love blogging as a whole…I think my favorite posts that I enjoy writing the most are my fashion/OOTD/fashion review posts and my recipe posts. I am very passionate about fashion and food!
4. How do you find new blogs to follow? When I’m bored, I type in tags in the search bar and browse the latest posts. I also always check out the people who like/comment/follow my own blog since we might have similar interests 🙂
5. Would you ever stop following a blog? Why? I don’t think I ever will, unless they post something that is really inappropriate/obnoxious. I never go through my subscription list and “clean it up”. Even if the blogger hasn’t blogged in a while, I still would like to follow them in case they came back.
6. What is your opinion on commenting on blog posts? The more the merrier! I love hearing feedback and comments from the people that read my blog. I prefer it more than likes because then, I can put a voice/personality on the person that is reading my work….can’t really do that with the like button!
7. Name one author whose books you will always read. Now that I’m on the 4th book of A Song of Ice and Fire, I’m really liking George R.R. Martin’s way of writing. I may look into his other works after I’m done with the series. Other authors I love are Jane Austen and Jodi Picoult.
8. If you could only recommend one book for another reader, what would it be and why? This is tough….the one book that I absolutely loved and was an emotional rollercoaster was The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. It sadly portrays the turmoil in that side of the world and covers so many heart-wrenching topics all in one. It’s beautifully written and will definitely pull your heart strings.
9. What is your most anticipated read for 2014? Again, since I’m currently reading A Song of Ice and Fire, I cannot wait till George R.R. Martin releases The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring
10. Who is your favorite designer? I honestly don’t have one!! I just sort of go with the flow and if I like something I see, than that’s inspiration!
11. How do you pick your outfits? First and foremost, I check the weather to see if I need to wear something for rain/snow/cold/extremely hot weather. From the weather, I then decide if I want to wear a skirt, dress or pants. Once I choose, I center everything around one items and then coordinate pieces to that main item, whether it be heels/booties, a statement necklace, a dress, or even skinny jeans. And then if I am more casual/comfortable for the day, I try to make myself more presentable with statement jewelry, a blazer, or nice shoes. I try not to go out of the house looking like I’m 12 years old or a bum – I just feel more confident about myself if I am dressed nicer 🙂

Liebster Award!
Blogging has been such an amazing experience so far! Every single day I am excited to sit down and type away my thoughts or share with you my experiences. I also can’t believe this is my 40th post! To commemorate this milestone, it so happened that the lovely & kind DressingUpWithD nominated me for the Liebstar award! After doing some research, this award is mostly for newer bloggers who have less than 200 followers. It’s meant to share/spread the word of favorite and interesting blogs that are new to the blogging world. I couldn’t be happier to receive this award from D, she’s one of my closest blogger friends and this a reminder to me that there are so many other people around the world that share the same thoughts, views, hobbies, etc. It makes me happy that my blog has allowed me to meet and interact with people all over the world. 1. How did you pick your blog name?
It is what I literally am! I’m a very small lady that works in the lab all day 😛
2. What made you start blogging?
I was getting really stressed out at work and needed an outlet. I also used to blog a long time ago and loved it, so I wanted to get back into writing again and sharing my fashion/makeup/food finds.
3. Describe yourself in 3 words.
Quiet, loyal, silly 🙂
4. What is your favorite feature about yourself?
Physical: I would say my lips. Non-physical: I always try to put others before myself.
5. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Clutter. I despise cluttered areas and must de-clutter/clean them – it drives me insane!
6. Do you have a style icon? Who is it?
I’ve always loved Rachel Bilson’s style – really casual and laid back, yet put together and feminine.
7. If you could travel back into time, what would you say to the 16 year old you?
Wash your face everyday! Take care of your skin! (haha)
8. What is a single quality you appreciate in people?
#1 quality I always appreciate and value is humbleness. I don’t want to be around people who are egotistical and cocky.
9. What is your favorite book?
I’m currently reading A Song of Ice & Fire: Storm of Swords, and am loving the series as a literary piece. But one of my all time favorites/classic is Pride & Prejudice.
10. What do you secretly love spending money on?
Ha! Any clothing item! But if I really did an analysis of my closet…I really love boots, dresses, and coats.
